Policy 1.9 Sleep
Policy Statement
Here at The Learning Meadow we recognise the importance of offering children a safe, quiet and cosy area where they may relax and/or sleep during the day.
We have a snug space indoors within sight and sound of the office therefore allowing us to constantly monitor a sleeping or resting child.
We ask parents to add details about children’s sleep arrangements onto their child’s registration form. This will include the preference on time of day and length of sleep appropriate. A staff member will record the length of time and the time a child has slept on the E Y Log daily diary which is sent home to the parents.
All outer clothing and shoes will be removed to allow the children to be comfortable.
The children will sleep on a mat with access to a small blanket if required and any comforter supplied by parents as mentioned on the E Y Log registration form. The mat is wiped down after each child has slept or rested.
This policy was initially adopted by The Learning Meadow in October 2018 and is reviewed annually
